AI in Design

How is AI changing the way you and your team designs at Razorpay?

A few months ago, Razorpay’s leadership decided not to curb AI usage, allowing employees to freely explore tools like Claude, GPT, Midjourney, and Suno at the company’s expense. The response was explosive - performance docs turned into podcasts, prototypes and animations created in minutes instead of hours, and synthetic users built for research. Today, AI supports exploration, copywriting, illustrations, and animations. The team is also experimenting with Cursor MCP, showing AI’s impact across the entire product process, from exploration to handoff.

How to get into Harvard? How did your course foster growth?

When I considered studying further, only three universities came to mind - Harvard, MIT, and Carnegie Mellon. Since I already had an undergrad degree in design, I didn’t want another design master’s. Applications required a portfolio, statement of purpose, and recommendations. I chose Harvard because I wanted to dive deeper into business. With its strong business school, most of my courses focused on business, psychology, and design. The experience helped me realize that design goes beyond apps or websites - it’s about broader problem-solving.

How do you approach screening when there are a thousand applicants?

For recent roles, we used Superform alongside Greenhouse, which we rely on heavily. Superform, with AI features, speeds up filtering, but portfolios remain central. With 500+ applications per role, reviewers spend no more than 30 seconds initially. So, clarity matters. I’m a picky reviewer - I dislike typos and value diversity in projects. In case studies, I check if you understood the problem and solved it effectively. Interactive elements like videos or prototypes stand out. Recently, I’ve especially appreciated Loom portfolios.
